Qualifications
Physical
Able to observe, see, hear and respond to children’s needs, emergencies and conflicts that might occur in a classroom, on the playground, in bathrooms and common areas.
Able to lift 30 pounds from the floor to a waist high table multiple times during the day.
Able to reach a child 20-30 feet away within 30 seconds without danger to the staff person’s health.
Able to crouch to a child’s height, maintain eye-contact at the child’s level, sit on the floor, and stand tall enough to reach children on the highest piece of equipment.

Job Responsibilities
Educational/Childcare
Handle student discipline in a positive manner following all guidelines.
Help implement activity plans following the Whole Child Curriculum.
Supervise children in care at all times.
Actively support other classrooms as the need arises.
Ensure the health and safety of all children in your assigned care and at Wellspring.
Feed/provide meals to all children in your assigned care according to their own personal needs.
Ensure that all children’s everyday needs are met including diapering and basic toiletry needs.
Engage with all children in a positive and calm manner.
Follow daily schedules.
Model and encourage good social skills, communication and conflict resolution skills.
Assist children in both developing and keeping good hygiene habits.
Follow hygienic guidelines for changing diapers/potty training.
Able to care and attend to the needs of multiple children in different stages of development.
Encourage and assist in social/emotional growth in children
Management
Interact daily with parents; maintain open and cooperative communication with parents and families, encouraging their involvement in the program and supporting the child’s family relationships.
Help ensure the school meets all requirements set by law.

Meal/Nutrition
Ensure that meals are served in a healthy and sanitary manner and environment.
Maintain food handlers license (as followed by Wellspring annual training)
Follow all Food Allergy Emergency Plans.
Follow all local and state health laws/requirements.
Janitorial/Maintenance
Complete any and all janitorial duties as necessary.
Responsible for ensuring your assigned classroom has an overall peaceful and pleasant sound, smell, and sight.
Provide a clean and hygienic space for all children.
Report unsafe workplace issues.
Responsible for keeping landscape and outdoor areas clean and safe for use.
Responsible for keeping common areas clean, tidy, and safe for use.
